animals have small intestine because they usually eat meat which is easily digested in small intestine but in plants there is large small intestine for breaking down cellulose

Explanation:

Herbivores:

The animals that derive their nutrition from plants are known as Herbivores

Carnivores:

The animals that depend upon other organisms for their food requirements are known as Carnivores

Herbivores have larger small intestine compared to Carnivores.

As carnivores are meat eaters, they have small intestines which are small in length because meat is easily digestible and takes less time to get digested. But herbivores are plant eaters which contains cellulose that takes comparatively more time to get digested. Thus, they have larger intestines
