In the lung air passage (wind pipe) divide into smallest tube called Bronchi in turn from bronchi-oles. The Bronchi-oles which terminate in the balloon like structure are called alveoli each lung contain 300-350 million alveoli present in the lungs provide maximum surface for exchange gases the alveoli have a very thin wall and contain an extensive network of blood vessels to facilitate exchange of gases.
