The magnitude of the earthquake is related to collapse of houses as because earthquake means the shaking of the earth's crust in different directions. This results in the loosening of the blocks of the house resulting in collapse of the house

Answer:

Magnitude is related to the amount of seismic energy released at the hypocenter of the earthquake. The magnitude of an earthquake is thus represented by a single, instrumentally determined value. ... Earthquakes with low magnitude would not cause houses to collapse. But those of high magnitude can cause houses to collapse.
