The meaning of education that I have understood so far is that "Education is the process of "facilitating learning/the acquisition" of  "skills", "values", "knowledge", "habits", & "beliefs." Educational methods comprise lectures, teaching, story-telling, training, discussion & directed research. It often takes place under the educators' guidance; nevertheless learners can educate themselves, as well.

Education takes place in formal/informal settings & any experience which has a "formative effect" on the way one "feels, thinks, or acts" could be regarded "educational". This teaching methodology is defined as "pedagogy".  "Formal education" is generally segregated into stages as "pre-school/kindergarten", "primary school", "secondary school" & then "university, college, or apprenticeship"

Explanation:

Meaning of Education by Philosophers

  • "Education" according to many philosophers is the belief that you study about "why","what"& "how" you study & the "essence of learning". It is a set of values that direct professional practice through everyday events & challenges facing teachers.
  • Their personal experiences, their beliefs, their environment, "interaction" with others & their knowledge of intellectual approaches are outlets for the educational philosophy.
  • Education in accordance to philosopher have 3 branches, Metaphysics (nature of reality), Epistemology (nature of knowledge), & Axiology ( the values one should live by) Examples, education examples that address questions such as  "Do you think humans are basically good/evil?, What are conservative or liberal beliefs?  ⠀

Meaning of Education by Psychologists

  • Psychologists define education as that which addresses in what way people learn. The subjects that psychologists state that education encompass are individual learning differences, learning outcomes, instructional processes, gifted learners, &  learning disabilities.
  • Though these psychologists mostly concentrate on "children & teenagers", they study "cognitive", "social & processes" of any "age group". Some of the other disciplines which play a crucial role comprise "cognitive", "behavioral", & "developmental psychology".
  • For example, In close collaboration with students , instructors & administrators, school psychologists learn more on the most effectual ways of learning. Any of the activities may comprise identifying students having learning difficulties and designing strategies to help them solve their problems. This type of work will contribute to new learning methods.

Meaning of Education by Academicians

  • Academicians define education as seeking to "nourish" the "good qualities" & drawing out the very best in each individual. "Education" aims at developing the the inner/innate human potentialities. A few academicians believe ‘education’ means the act of training/teaching.
  • Any instruction offered at "schools & institutions" of higher education is nothing more than "education". The educational goals in these cases are assessed by "qualifications or certification or advancement". There is a deliberate attempt to develop those "knowledge", "skills", "attitudes" & "behaviours" in these institutions with a clear purpose.
  • For example, the instructor seeks to create a literate/professional individual, such as a doctor, engineer,  a surgeon, an inventor and so forth. There the individual is intentionally 'trained to think' as the educators have predetermined it. Therefore, education  is nothing but intentional practice structured to maximize the ability of one person.
  • Hence, from the above, we can say that the definition of education of academician is similar to what I understand education is. However, keeping other people's views in mind, education is not restricted to a classroom/a school only. It is considered a lifetime process, in which all the experiences, skills and insights a person gains via different means ( i.e. formal , informal and by the way) and is called education at various stages of his life. Education as a formative/additive act or practice for an individual's personality. Education is considered to be an investment in national growth, and not just a form of social change. Such an educational approach encompasses all life experiences, as the focus on human growth is shifted from "individual development to national development"
