how is the method of extraction of metals high up in the reactivity series different from that for metals in the middle ? why the same process can't be applied for them? explain giving equation,tye extraction of sodium

Yes it is diff because the metals who are high up in the reactivity series are highly reactive so they are extracted by electrolytic refining of there molten chlorides and oxides eg sodium. During this process metals are produced at cathode and oxygen and chlorine at anode
