How is the poet guilty of violating the rule of hospitality? Discuss the answer related to the poem "The Snake".

The poet D H Lawrence, feels guilty of violating the rule of hospitality because the poet hit the snake with a log.

He didn’t want to hurt the snake who had chosen his house to drink water.

At first he didn’t hurt the snake, but then when the snake was sliding to the wall of his house, the poet hit him with a log.
