How is the presence of cyanobacteriain paddy fields beneficial to the rice crop? ... The soil conditions in paddy fields provide suitable environment for the growth of nitrogen fixingcyanobacteria. Cyanobacteria act as important biofertilisers. They also add organic matter to the soil and increase its fertility.
