Respiration is a complex biological process in which liberation of energy is utilized in various physiological process whereas combustion means burning it is the sequence of exothermic chemical reaction between a fuel and an oxidant accompanied by the production of heat and conversion of chemical species. the release of heat can produce light in the form of either glowing or a flame.
respiration is a slow process so the energy release in several process and remain stored in the form of ATPbut in combustion it is fast process and energy released only in one step resulting in increase in temperature or produce fire
