Standardization refers to the generalization and imposition of a particular part of one's cultural identity as he norm against which all other identities are measured. By doing so, we are giving importance to one group of people over the other. This leads to a superiority complex amongst these and further exploitation. For example, with the standardization of Hindi, speakers of other dialects of Hindi feel less important, the speakers of 'standard' Hindi take advantage of which to discriminate them in various spheres.
