Right to information act, 1986 protects the consumers from any defects, and with this act, consumers can avail quality, quantity and potency and standard goods at proper prices.

Consumers can lodge the problems in the RTI authority and they can request for removal the defects from the goods, replace the damaged goods, return the goods and claim the full amount, and consumers can also claim compensation from the manufacturer or service providers.
