As sugar industry is seasonal therefore sugar is not available throughout the year..and hence it is not suited to the cooperative sector as they will be facing a loss...

Sugarcane industry is seasonal in nature. It means that it employs people for only few months in a year. It is suited to co-operative sector as sometimes both the farmers and the owners of the sugarcane mill may work together with each other to benifit one another. While the farmers may sell his produce directly to the mill owners, the latter may buy sugarcane directly fromt he farmers. This aviod the exploitation of the farmers by the moneylenders. This also help in stabilising the prices of sugar, gur and jaggery
