the sex of the foetus is relied on the father's sperm. the mother always passes X chromosomes to her children and the sex is determined by the sperm. if the combination is X and Y, the baby will be a boy and if they are X and X, the baby would be a girl. in some hospitals, the foetus's sex is known by the parents earlier so that they can kill the girl chid but it is declared a legal offence by the government as the country needs girl children
