see the diagram..........

There are 46-46 chromosomes in both the males and females. In male, there are two pairs of chromosomes 22-22 and x,y. In females, there are also two pairs of chromosomes 22-22 and x,x. Both male and female transfer 22-22 chromosomes. With the 22 chromosomes, either x chromosome or y chromosome is transferred in male. And in the female, with the 22 chromosomes, x is transferred.

If X is transferred in both male and female, then the pair formed will be (x,x) and there would be a girl. And if Y would be transferred by male and X would be transferred in female, then the pair formed will be (x,y) and there will be a boy.
