Sulfur is essential for plant growth as secondary nutrients. It further helps in forming important enzymes and assists in the formation of plant proteins. It is needed in very low amounts, but deficiencies can cause serious plant health problems and loss of vitality. It is now recognized as the fourth important macronutrient, along with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Oil crops, legumes, forages and some vegetable crops require sulfur in considerable high amounts, almost same as phosphorus.
