Termination

  • Third codon shift to the A – site now at RNA charged with third amino acid binds at the A - site for chain elongation in the 5’ 3’ direction.

  • When the aminoacyl tRNA reaches the termination codon like UAA, UGA and UAG termination of polypeptide chain of amino acids occurs.

  • This leads to the release of the polypeptide chain of amino acids and tRNA from the ribosomes.

  • The ribosomes dissociates into large and small subunit at the end of protein synthesis.
