Tuberculosis bacteria reach the gastrointestinal tract via haematogenous spread, ingestion of infected sputum, or direct spread from infected contiguous lymph nodes and fallopian tubes.The most common site of involvement of the gastrointestinal tuberculosis is the ileocaecal region.
