The use of local time in practical life is inconvinent because,if everyone starts using local time then there would be a total confusion. There is a time difference between each longitude of 4 and if local time was used and there would be a total confusing as crossing 1° towards the east would cause a 4 minute difference in time and tish would cause total confusion and even technology wont be able to calculate it properly but with the use of standard time, which is much more practical prevents this confusion.
