Well Chennai have the tropical wet as well as the dry climate and because it is  near the coast so the there is no extreme variation in the temperature from season to season  The maximum temperature goes up to 35 to 40  °C which occur in summer while during winter the minimum temperature remain around 19 to 25 °C. The average annual rainfall in chennai is 140 cm

On the other hand Jaisalmar  is a arid and desert area so you will find hot weather there and there is also the extreme variation in the temperature. Day and night temperature also differ . During the summer the temperature can go upto 49
°C while 25 °C is the minimum temperature . The average temperature of the winter is about 23°C  while the minimum temperature can be as below as  5°C. Here the average rainfall can be about  209.5 millimeter .

Chennai

Chennai has a tropical wet and dry climate. It is located on the coast and on the thermal equator. So it does not have an extreme variation in seasonal temperature. It gets rainfall from the north-east monsoon winds. Sometimes it is hit by cyclones.

Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer is located in the desert region. It has an arid climate. It has a low temperature during winters. The weather is cold and dry. There is very scanty rainfall during the monsoon season. In the summer season it has a hot and sultry weather.
