where u is initial velocity , theta is angle of projectile and g is acceleration due to gravity.

And in horizontal projectile it is derived by equation √(2h/g)

where h is height from where object is thrown , g is acceleration due to gravity i.e. 9.8 or 10 refer as given in question.
