Our teeth generally has ph less than 5.6 which is slightly acidic. The toothpaste which we use is basic in nature to maintain the ph balance in our mouth. If teeth is not brushed properly and if its ph decreases then it would cause tooth decay.
Formic acid is present in bee sting. This causes a burning and irritation when a bee bites us. Some basic antiseptics like baking soda or milk of magnesia is used to cure the pain and irritation caused by a bee bite .
