Answer:

At the time of transpiration in plants. The water stored in Xylem reaches to the leaf and when plant loss its water through transpiration, there at the same time A suction pull is created.

As the water lost from the upper part of xylem Creat a suction pull and that empty part is Filled. But when the Upper part is filled then the lower part ( At the root part ) becomes empty and thus it also create a suction pull. Thus the water is absorbed by the roots.

Here the concentration of Water present in the root and of any water body should not be equal, So the Root absorbs IONS ( Minerals ) present in the water body and therefore the concentration of IONS increases in the root and thus the water is absorbed to balance the concentration in the roots and the outer water body.
