THE TRANSPORT AND TRANSLOCATION IS DONE DUE TO OSMOSIS AND IMBIBITION PROCESS BY PHOELEM AND XYLEM VESSELS.

transport of water in xylem is a unidirectional movement where water moves from roots to all plant body parts whereas phloem is bidirectional as food in the form of sucrose moves from the source ( where food is made or stored) to sink (food is required).
