How is tricki treated and what causes his healthy falls down

Tricki was brought in the clinic of Dr.Herriot and the doctor gave him daily exercise and tricki was not given any food till he felt hungry.This way he got treated.

His health falls down due to overeating and not doing any exercise and because of too much possessiveness by Mrs.Pumphrey.
