V-Shaped valleys are formed by the erosion of rivers.There are two types of erosion - lateral erosion and sidewise erosion.Since the river in the upper course has less mass,it has more velocity but the same river loses its velocity by picking up sediments.Hence the river with more velocity has great eroding power.Rivers erode mountains and scoop up the cavity for years eventually forming the V-Shaped valley.
