water in plants are transported by tubes called xylem and food is transported by tubes called phloem .
xylem
these tubes transport water only in one direction .they conduct water from root to the leaves for photosynthesis
phloem
these tubes unlike xylem tubes move food matter in all directions.they transport food from the leaves to other patrs of the plant.
