When a water pump works,the air pressure in the pipe decreases...the atmospheric pressure actingon the water in the well forces the water to rise in the pipe and it is drawn up...hope this helped...

\large\mathcal\red{Explanation}

In pump machine two pipes are connected two to itstwo outlet holes..

Now the pipes which are drawned to the water ,from where the water would be pumped,has very high pressure region and the pipe which is connected to the pump machine,has a quite low pressure region and it is created by swinging a fan at very high speed .So , high pressure region

Will assert a force on the water in the pipe towards the low pressure region.and thus how water is pumped from a well .
