When the water pump starts, the pressure inside the pipe is lower than that of pressure in the well , so as we know that that water moves from high pressure to low pressure , the water is drawn out from the well.

When the pump starts it sucks the air due to which , low pressure is created inside the pipe and as a result of which water moves from high pressure area (from well) to low pressure area (pipe) and is drawn up.
