how is wood floats on water
DasRick:
It floats because it weighs less than amount of water it would have to push out of the glass if it sank. Wood, cork, and ice are all less dense than water, and theyfloat; rocks are more dense, so they sink.

Not every wood will float on water. The wood that have a big area will float or the wood having very less mass will also float
