Zero error is simply the reading of the measuring device when input quantity is zero. ... If you are measuring zero length using dial Vernier Calliper by firmly pressing fixed & movable arm (or jaw), still the dial vernier shows 0.01 mm, then 0.01 mm is the zero error.
