Answer:

maharashtra has more per capita income than kerala. this can be due to ariety of reasons including that maharashtra is a larger state than kerala, and because mumbai is the financial and commercial capital of india. therefore, maharashtra is more developed in terms of income. but, kerala is far more developed in terms of facilities available to the people, which includes crucial necessities for development like education and healthcare. kerala has ensured a stable and high literacy rate, and has also made healthcare available to most of the public. this ensures better human capital development by reducing mortality rate, increasing literacy etc. maharashtra, on the other hand, has increased income level, but has not been successful in  making basic facilities available to everyone. poverty, illiteracy, sickness etc. are more predominant in maharashtra when compared to kerala. hence, even though maharashtra is leading in per capita income, it still lags behind in other crucial aspects.
