Firstly, I would like to notify you that large intestine never goes into the small intestine. Secondly, the vice versa too doesn't happen.

The thing which happens is that the food particles which are broken down into smaller constituents travel from the small intestine.
It happens with the help of the digestive juices present in the human body (bile juice, pancreatic juice, intestinal juice, gastric juice, etc.) and the peristaltic movements.

Now, what are peristaltic movements?
These are the movements in the body which push the food particles forward.
