Hydration energy is the energy librated when something is dissolve in water. If the hydration energy is greater than lattice energy substance will soluble.

Lattice energy is the amount of energy which bound the crystal lattice.

LiF is insoluble in water because it's lattice energy is higher than hydration energy.

Other salt like NaCl dissolve in water because hydration energy is much more than its lattice energy.
