H3PO4 ( Meta Phosphoric acid ) is a Tri-basic acid .The basicity of this acid is 3 .

Basicity is the number of replacable hydrogens of an acid in aqueous or basic medium.

H3PO4(aq) –> 3H+(aq) + PO4 3-(aq)

If we observe the structure of H3PO4 , then we see

Three –OH are present (attatched with P atom ) .

These three –OH produces three H+ ions.

Ö <– P – ( OH ) 3

Number of hydrogen ions in H3PO4 is 3 .
