How long can a large flowerhorn go without oxygen?

In the case of a long power outage:
- If you are using a HoB filter, remove the inserts and float them in the tank to prevent drying out. If it's a canister filter just leave it alone, but the bacteria will start to die off in about 24 hours if they don't get any food (the ammonia normally produced by your fish)
- If the weather is cool, and your house starts to get cold, wrap some towels or blankets around the glass of the tank to help insulate it and keep it warm. A proper flowerhorn tank is pretty big however, so it shouldn't lose heat very quickly anyway.
