HEY DEAR ...

Until both side of the partially permeable membrane, osmosis took place through, has the same water potential. If the difference in water potential, between the two sides of the partially permeable membrane, is large it will take longer than if the difference in water potential was low.

continues as long as both the hypertonic and hypotonic have reached equilibrium (having same concentration of solvent)
