Answer: The President shall hold office for a term of 5 years from the date on which he enters upon his office. He shall, however, continue to hold office notwithstanding the expiry of his term, until his successor enters upon his office.

For the Indian Parliament, the time period is stipulated till the next president is appointed in office, once they have been appointed. The incumbent president has to exit.
