▶The Mughal–Maratha Wars, also called The Deccan War or The Maratha War of Independence, were fought between the Maratha Empire and the Mughal Empire from 1680 to 1707.

Result: Maratha victory. Mughals failed to completely annex Maratha state.

Date: 1680 – May 1707

▶ During this time, Aurangzeb greatly expanded the territory of the Mughal Empire. He was constantly at war. Victories in the south expanded the Empire to more than 4 million square kilometres. His empire was the world's largest economy, valued 25% of world's GDP.
