Time taken  by train to cross a bridge is  100 Seconds.

Explanation:Given:

100 m long train takes to cross a bridge of length 4.9 km at a speed of 50 m/s.

To Find:

Time taken  by train to cross a bridge.

Solution:

As given,100 m long train takes to cross a bridge of length 4.9 km at a speed of 50 m/s.

Speed of train =50\ \frac{m}{s}.

Length of train=100 m

Length of  bridge =4.9 \ km=4900 \ m.

Total distance = Length of train + Length of bridge

                        =100+4900=5000\ m

Speed=\frac{ Total \ distance }{Time\ taken\ to\ cover \ distance }

50=\frac{ 5000 }{Time\ taken\ to\ cover \ distance }

Time\ taken\ to\ cover \ distance =  100 \ Seconds.

Thus,Time taken  by train to cross a bridge is 100 Seconds.
