Given:-

  • Speed = 45 km/hr.
  • Length of train = 100 m
  • Length of platform = 150 m.

To find:-

  • The time taken to cross the platform.

Solution:-

The total distance need to be covered:-

→ 100 + 150

→ 250 m

→ Speed = 45 km/hr

→ Speed = 12.5 m/s

Formula used:-

Time = Distance/speed

→ Time = 250/12.5

Time = 20 sec

Hence,

  • the time taken to cross the platform is 20 seconds.

Given :-

→ Length of the train = 100m

→ Speed of the train = 45 km/h

→ Length of platform = 150 m

To Find :-

→ Time it will take to cross that platform

Solution :-

→ Total Distance to be covered by the train = Length of platform + Length of the train

Total Distance = 100m + 150m

⇒ 250m

→ Now , let's convert the speed of train in m/s

\sf \implies \dfrac{45\times1000}{3600}

\sf \implies \dfrac{50}{4} = 12.5 \; m/s

→ As we know that

\underline{\bf{\dag} \:\mathfrak{Time\;taken=\dfrac{Distance}{Speed} }}

\sf \implies \dfrac{250}{12.5} \\

\sf \implies 250 \times \dfrac{10}{125}

\sf \implies 2 \times 10 \\

\sf \implies 20 \; seconds

∴ The train will take 20 secs to cross the platform
