How long will sound take to travel in i)a steel rail and in ii) air, both 3.5 km in length?​

i) speed of sound in steel= 3150m/s

distance= 3.5km = 3500m

time taken= 3500/3150

                 = 1.11 seconds

ii) speed of sound in air= 344m/s

distance= 3.5km = 3500m

time taken= 3500/344

                 = 10.17 seconds
