✨Lungs are two balloon like structure located in the Thoracic cavity . These are specifically designed to maximise the area for gaseous exchange . These lungs end up in sac like structure called Alveoli. These are Richly supplied by blood vessels and have very thin walls so that the respiratory gases ( Carbon dioxide and Oxygen ) can easily diffuse in and out of them .

♤ In the lungs, the air passage that divides into smaller and smaller tubes called bronchi which form bronchioles .

♤ The bronchioles terminate in the balloon like structure called alveoli.

♤ The alveoli present in the lungs provide maximum surface for exchange of gases.

♤ The alveoli have very thin walls and contain an extensive network of blood vessels to facilitate exchange of gases.
