Once the nutrients enter an amoeba via the vesicles formed during phagocytosis or pinocytosis, then the nutrients within the vesicle must undergo digestion. This occurs when the vacuole fuses with a lysosome that contains digestive enzymes

the food particle is ingested by the process of "phagocytosis" in amoeba. then for digestion to take place ,the vacuole containingthe food particle merges with the "lysosomes" present  the cell.In the lysosomes the chemicals react upon the food and convert it intochyme and ultimately into energy.......hope ur statisfied with my answer........plz mark as brainliest....nd dont forget to rate it ........^-^...
