Hey mate...!

Mahabharat is indeed a dynamic text..!

Mahabharat is a unique book. what is there in it, is there in the world, and what is not found there, is not found anywhere else. It has all basic human emotions like Anger, greed, envy, hatred, revenge, love, friendship, etc etc. Most of the situations are valid even today. Fight between cousins or people for land and ego. Hatred for various reasons, targeting women for satisfaction of ego. Deceit to reach the top post, trying to get better of others. The politics be it of war or family or in general is relevant even today.

The way battle happened and the way they plotted against each other and the way allies joined both camps is very much relevant in international war scenario. see how many of those who were so close to Arjun like Bhagdutta friend of his father, Burishrava a close friend, Ashwthama who used to sing his praises joined Kauravas. Now it happens in real life too. How nations keep on changing their allies depending on situation. How sometimes for political reasons we have to neglect humanitarian crisis in some nations and engage with their dictators or brutal regimes and even support them.

What makes it relevant today is that it is not about Black and white like the Ramayana but has grey shades. No one is above scrutiny not even Dharmaputra yudishter who was considered epitome of honesty.

The difference which this book had was that it broke conventional belief of that time. It was a kind of revolution. It is real and about what happens in different situations. It teaches not to follow the written dharma otherwise you will end up losing in the dice game of life. It tells u to question like Arjun and conquer your weaknesses. What Arjun faced before the war , the dilemma is what we face everyday.
