Answer:
HI MATE !
- As the Sinhala community constituted major percentage of Sri Lanka's population, they adopted a series of majoritarianism to show their supremacy. They dominated the Sri Lankan parliament and declared sinhala as the official language.
- They gave more privileges to Sinhalese people in terms of jobs and universities thus disregarding Tamils.
- They also decided to foster Buddhism in the country which further created a feeling of alienation among Tamils.
- So the Tamils began demanding some demands like recognition of Tamil as the official language, more autonomy in Tamil provinces which were repeatedly denied by sinhala leaders.
- These all led to many social tension in Sri Lanka which resulted in a civil war in the country.
