Majoritarianism is practised in many ways in Srilanka:-

1)Buddhism was annouced as the constitutional religion.

2)Singhlas language was stated as the constitutional lang.

3)Prudential laws was followed in which reservation was given to sinhalas and many job opportunities.

4)Opening schools and colleges by Tamils were banned.

Sri Lankan Tamils were deeply hurt and felt that they were separated by the policies of Sinhala community.

 

✭  The Constitution had denied them equal rights, job opportunities, and created discrimination in every aspect.

 

As a result, Sri Lankan Tamils launched struggles and protests for recognising Tamil as an official language as they believed that it would secure equality in education and creation of job opportunities which they were denied
