How many 5cm cubes can be obtained from a cube whose edge is 50 cm

Hey.

Here is the answer.

Given edge of bigger cube = 50 cm

Given edge of smaller cube = 5 cm

As we are trying to obtain smaller cubes of 5 cm edge from bigger one

so we need to get the volumes of the both the cubes first.

So, Volume of smaller cube =

 {5}^{3} = 125 \: {cm}^{3}

and volume of biggerer cube =

 {50}^{3} = 125000 \: {cm}^{3}

Hence, the no. of smaller cubes obtained


125000 \div 125 = 1000 \: cubes

hence \: 1000 \: cubes \: of \: 5cm \: edge \: \\ can \: be \: obtained \: from \: cube \: of \: edge \: 50 \: cm
