C4 cycle needs 12 ATP( 2 ATP for 1 CO2 fixed. So 6*2=12) more for production of one molecule of glucose when compared to C3.

However, maltose is a disaccharide formed of 2 molecules of glucose.

Therefore, 1 maltose needs 2*12=24 ATP additional.
