There are 10 animal fairs organised at the state  level by the animal husbandry department under the provisions of the Rajasthan State Livestock  Fair Act, 1963.

The are held as per Tithi ( the traditional dates) and Mah(month) with reference to Hindu calendar year. All these fairs are organised under the guidance of the Directorate of Animal  Husbandry, Government of Rajasthan. Among the 10 fairs 3 of them are held in the Nagaur district while the rest of them each take place in the districts of Badmer,  Korauli, Jhalarpatan, Ajmer, Hanumangarh, Bharatpur and  Jhalwad.
