:. Valence electrons=7
:. valency of element 1= -1

atomic number of element 2=20
:. electronic configuration=2,8,8,2
:. Valence electrons=2
:. valency of element 2= +2

:. according to Criss cross method,
2 atoms of element 1 combine with 1 atom of element 2 to form a stable element.
