1) Carpals (the wrist bones) - 8

• Scaphoid

• Trapezium

• Trapezoid

• Lunate

• Pisiform

• Triquetrum

• Hamate

• Capitate

2) Metacarpals (the palm bones) - 5

• Metacarpal I (or 1)

• Metacarpal II (or 2)

• Metacarpal III (or 3)

• Metacarpal IV (or 4)

• Metacarpal V (or 5)

3) Phalanges (the finger bones) - 14

There are 2 phalanges in the thumb:-

• A proximal phalanx

• A distal phalanx

There are 3 phalanges in each of the 4 fingers:-

• A proximal phalanx

• An intermediate phalanx

• A distal phalanx
